Gabriel Engelke was born in the forests of Värmland, eastern Sweden, in a place called Lekvattnet. He got his first camera at the age of 19, the Olympus µmju -II 35mm, an analogue classic. For a long time, he used photography to document skateboard trips. Skateboarding would later turn into a professional career, still going to this day, along with professional works in photography. Years on the road led to many encounters and connections with skateboard photographers, which became the real trigger to get deeper into the world of photography. Today, his work focuses mostly on portraiture, music and skateboarding.
Gabriel currently resides in Barcelona and Oslo.
